CISE Director Mark Belcher Awarded BPA for Trade Advisory Services by USAID

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded CISE Director Mark Belcher a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to serve as a Senior Trade Specialist. This contract has a base year and two option years that run through September 2014.

In this role, Mr. Belcher will provide USAID on-demand technical advisory services in the legal, policy, and institutional dimensions of trade facilitation, logistics, customs reform, export promotion, trade policy, competition policy, and implementation of international trade agreements. Promoting open, competitive markets through trade liberalization helps stimulate private sector growth and job creation to help reduce poverty.

USAID is an independent federal government agency that represents United States foreign policy interests by working with other nations to improve living conditions for nearly 1.3 billion people in extreme poverty around the world. This is achieved through programs that support economic growth; agriculture and trade; global health; and democracy, conflict and humanitarian assistance.

Founded in September 2010 by Anne Marie Thurber and Mark Belcher, the Center for Innovation in Social Entrepreneurship (CISE) provides strategy and management consulting support to senior leaders in government, business, and civil society to promote lasting prosperity in developing countries worldwide.
